PASTEL PLEIN AIR ARTIST

Dina is a native Texan, who loves being out in nature. After working in many different mediums, she discovered her favorite is pastels. Soft pastels work really well in plein air paintings. So, for the last several years, she has worked as a Texas plein air pastel artist. Nature is in constant change. Dina enjoys capturing this fleeting moment and the connection it poses between God, man and nature. Her favorite painting locations are Big Bend, Palo Duro Canyon, Enchanted Rock and her own Bosque county acreage.  

Dina has over 30 paintings juried into National Exhibitions in Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, Colorado, Oregon and New Mexico since November 2005. This April will make Dina's third invitation to participate in the Nomadas del Arte National Exhibition at the Southwest Gallery in Dallas, Tx.

Dina will be featured in the April issue of "American Art Collector" in the Nomadas article. She will also have an ad in this issue.

Sherry Harrington and Dina have been invited by the Bosque Arts Council to have an exhibition at their center in Clifton Tx. The opening reception will be on June 18th and the show will run through July 4th weekend.  

Dina has an invitation along with 6 other national artist to participate in "Art on the Paluxy" at the historic Barnard Mill on the Paluxy River in Glen Rose, Tx. on March 27, 2010, 6-9 pm. Robert Summers is the Artist in Residence for this event.

Look for her painting in the May/June 2010 issue of the "Art of the West" magazine  under the Plein Air Artist of Colorado exhibition at Saks Gallery in Denver, Co, opening June 25, 2010.

Dina has been invited to have 2 paintings in the 2010 Nomadas del Arte exhibition. The Southwest Gallery in Dallas, Tx. will host this premier plein air event during the month of April 2010, featuring some of the nations most talented plein air artist.
 
Dina's painting, "Last Light" won an Award of Excellence at the 18th Annual National Pastel Society of New Mexico Exhibition. Judge for this event was Colette Oyda Smith. The event is in Albuquerque, Nov. 6-29,2009.

Dina's painting "Dry Creek at Enchanted Rock" has won 1st place in the pastel category at the Bosque Conservatory 2009 Art classic. Juror Joshua Rose, editor of the "Western Art Collector" magazine.

"Afterglow" has been juried by Bob Rohm into the Pastel Society of the Southwest National Exhibition. Dates are Oct. 16- Nov 14 at the Arts Center of Plano, Plano, Tx. She will be awarded Signature Membership at this event.

Dina, along with five other Bosque Artist will have their own exhibition in Breckenridge, Tx. at the Breckenridge Fine Art Center, Oct. 13- Nov.25. Each artist will have around 15 pieces in this exhibition. "Meet the Artist"  on Oct. 24th from noon to 3:00 at the BFAC.
